Why I Never Rushed the Process

Illustrated woman overlooking a winding path marked Observe, Discern, and Progress, representing patient persistence and disciplined progression toward readiness

The Question: How do you know when it’s time to move?

Measuring what matters – stewardship before sales:

    • My track record for discernment – advice over opinions
    • My operations model stabilizing across internal readiness challenges
    • Bandwidth to take on the needs of others

These became the indicators I trusted more than the urgency or external expectations.

The Temptation: Force certainty.

Go to market based on others’: opinions, influence, business models, &/or ignorance.

The Consequence(s): of rushing – could have been:

Resorting to ‘taking refuge’ in old systems – that are ‘dismantling’ and/or ‘obsolescing’ themselves.

New ecosystem, same windsock.

Risks and implications of “I didn’t know” tactics / strategies.

Being visible – but distracting, not impactful.

The Exploration: Ensure visibility &/or engagements contribute productively

Vetting out what ecosystems / rooms I want to be in:

    • What’s motivating me?
    • What value do I want to contribute?
    • How is my engagement / inclusion to be perceived?
    • Why is my inclusion different / impactful?
    • When is my inclusion most impactful?

The Insight: Patient persistence isn’t inactivity, it’s disciplined progression predicated on informed observation.

Dr. Charles Stanley’s “A.S.H.”:

    • Don’t be anxious (to be in EVERY ecosystem / room)
    • Don’t strive (for quantity, over quality)
    • Don’t hurry (to adhere to the timelines, judgement, anticipations, opinions of others)

The Porteolas connection: Rome wasn’t built in a day.  Porteolas wasn’t built in a moment.

Porteolas was / is:

    • Shaped by all of my educational and professional experiences
    • Inspired by several small business forums and roundtables
    • Rooted in years of recurring observations, prototypes, and refinements

Go-to-market clarity has been established through sustained discovery rather than immediate answers.
